Before you go out:
- [ ] Read your script.
- [ ] Identify key moments.
- [ ] Plan for 90+ clips.
- [ ] Charge your phone.
- [ ] Clean your lens.
During filming:
- [ ] Format: 9:16 (vertical)
- [ ] Hold camera steady.
- [ ] Film two angles when possible.
- [ ] Film wide and close-up.
- [ ] Don’t rush clips.
- [ ] Capture in-between moments.
- [ ] For timelapses, record at least 2 minutes of footage.
- [ ] Save the physical credit card receipts and the card terminal “copia” for expenses.
A good rule of thumb is to think that 1 second of video is about 1 video clip. So if we’re creating a 90 second reel (that’s typically our goal), we need at least 90 short video clips (but the more the merrier as it gives us choices when we put everything together).
Tip: Try many different angles, and when you focus on something; take two video clips at different zoom levels.
